World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The item upgrade lets players increase the gear rating of an item by up to 700 points and add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you decide to take them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For example an excellently rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth the effort.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. They also have an unchanging bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. A lot of weapons also have a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a single unit. This bonus may exceed the damage a weapon upgrade can do on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity and current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.
Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. While this is usually an excellent thing but it can also have negative effects as well. For items that are only used in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example) upgrading them can make them unusable unless you happen to have an extremely fortunate roll.
Armor items can be upgraded to boost their performance. In the case of a helm or chest, it will boost the defense of its base, while gloves and belts will increase their strength and dexterity. Armor also has the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it can sometimes change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading in addition to their respective values. This means that a weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will be hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button in the item menu using the circling arrows. This will reroll an item and alter its stats but not reset the weapon's levels, or connect it to an account's status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make all the difference in your ability to survive. more info can offer massive improvements in the resistance to curses, poisons, fire, and magic. This can make it easier to navigate difficult areas. In general, the greater defense your character has, the more value you can get from each point of health you have, so it's important to upgrade your armor as much as you can.
To improve your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game and in order to unlock each fountain, you have to complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed your main quest and the associated fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each will vary. In general, you'll be looking at anywhere between three Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the initial upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent one. For instance the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep pace with a large group of enemies in most cold conditions, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to withstand a full on raid with a few of your friends.
You can't upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor for physical strength or spell power. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still be wearing by the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
You can also gain advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. In general, you should keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to beat the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be beneficial to have a few upgrades to your helmets and chest armor that allow you to stealth around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are bottled substances that, if consumed, give the user an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five different types of potions, each with particular effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. Additionally, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to the potions.
Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP, which can be earned by making them using a craft table or in an chest of the Alchemist. However, the upgrade price is dependent on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level and rarity.
To upgrade a potions simply right-click on it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. The potion table is now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be used in cauldrons. The same is true for the use of a potion in a cauldron that is full. This will draw out the potion and refill the bottle.
In addition, there are lingering potions, which are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone is also added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The potion table has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, for instance, the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is a small and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to an object or ornament that serves a purpose but is not particularly important, such as a tiny thimble. In some cultures, a trinket is a way to express friendship or affection between family members.

Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to purchasing a new trinket. It is possible to upgrade the player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same base level as the previous trinket but it also comes with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.
Trinkets can be upgraded when they're not needed and allows players to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players and are an extremely popular alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most important items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, followed by their secondary items and finally, other items of gear they won't replace soon (for instance rings or cloaks). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when selecting the items to upgrade. For instance If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank, they should prioritize upgrading their helm, chest, shoulders, and belt.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher ilvl after they are no longer useful and the new trinket will have an additional bonus of 1% for upgrading. A re-upgrade, however, can cause damage to the trinket unless it can be salvaged using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still less expensive than buying a new one.
